How Homeowners Can Get Share of $7M State Flood Relief Pot

CHAUMONT, N.Y. -- It was about a month ago that Spectrum News visited the Point Peninsula home of Greg Powell. It was engulfed by Lake Ontario's water.

It's already suffered major damage and today, it's not out of the water yet. It's why Powell was one of nearly 100 people to attend a meeting Thursday in Chaumont.

Flooding Victims Learn What State Help Is Available

As residents on the Lake Ontario and St. Lawrence River shorelines wait for the high water flooding their properties to go down, they're already preparing for the next steps: cleaning up and rebuilding.

"We'll give as much information as we can," said Neighbors of Watertown's Gary Beasley. "We'll help people with all the documentation."
