The empty Ogilvie food plant site between Pleasant Street and California Avenue in Watertown is in line to get a makeover.
And that news is great to those who live near it.
Neighbors of Watertown is partnering with the city to develop the site and build about 20 single family, owner occupancy homes, along with a new street and park.
Site clean up needs to be completed first and is expected to start in the spring when the rocks, trash and contaminated soil can be dealt with and not have snow and cold hampering efforts.
The estimated cost of clean-up and a new road is $1.5 million, but the city believes it will be money well spent.
