Friday was the grand unveiling of ten years of work and nearly $10 million.

Watertown, state and federal officials gathered to cut the ribbon on the Franklin Building.

The former YWCA has been rebuilt from top to bottom and an arcade from Public Square to Franklin Street has been restored.

The group, Neighbors of Watertown, is now chalking up another win for downtown preservation.

The Franklin Building now has new retail space available fronting its arcade, along with Public Square and Franklin Street.

But its 17 apartments were all taken within 10 days.
